The brief
A growing primary school across three floors needed a network refresh ahead of a curriculum-wide move to cloud-based teaching tools. Existing cabling was a mix of CAT5 and the original phone wiring; Wi-Fi was a single consumer router downstairs that struggled to reach classrooms 2 and 3.
What we did
Structured CAT6 cabling pulled to every classroom, plus dedicated runs to the staff room and library. Managed Wi-Fi with three access points and per-classroom SSIDs so we could shape bandwidth by class. Centralised content filtering using a small on-prem appliance with cloud policy management — KCSIE-aligned out of the box.
The outcome
Completed in 7 working days over half-term. Zero term-time disruption. Wi-Fi coverage now exceeds 95 Mbps in every teaching space. The school adopted Google Classroom across all year groups within a fortnight.
